The class of 2009 with ten students has raised almost $30,000 for their senior trip to
Great Britain. Chaperones are John and Jessica Oldham and Johanna Rogers. We will leave
mid-April for an 11 day tour including Ireland, North Wales, Edinburgh Scotland, and
London.
Our year-long fundraising began in September 2007 with bake sales, community dinners,
bottle drives, island cookbooks, a sunset cruise, and a huge auction.
We couldn't have done it without the donations and support of the community. We learned
alot about working together for a common goal and that it's not always easy.
We're looking forward to what has become an Islesboro Central School tradition and the
opportunity for many students to travel and experience other cultures which they might
not otherwise have.
