Islesboro Central School is a unique K-12 public school which currently has 86 students. ICS features small class sizes which allow for individualized attention. We are located on the island of Islesboro, only a short twenty minute ferry ride from Lincolnville, Maine. ICS students consistently score well above State of Maine averages on standardized tests, and each year our students attend top colleges after graduation.
Because of the close proximity to the mainland ICS is not only a great school for island students, but is also an excellent option for students throughout the region. Each year several mainland students attend ICS as part of our Magnet Program. Want something different and unique from your educational experience? Why not learn more about how you can attend Islesboro Central School. Many people are finding out that ICS is truly one of Maine's best kept secrets.
The Maine Community Heritage Project (MCHP), a partnership between the Maine Historical Society and Maine State Library, is an innovative program that promotes collaboration between local schools, historical societies, and public libraries through the exploration and celebration of local history. The MCHP grows out of the Maine Memory Network, the Maine Historical Society's nationally recognized statewide digital museum. Islesboro is extremely proud to be a part of this recent collaboration.
